Dr. Mohammad (Mo) Izadi is a specialist in Orthodontics and dentofacial orthopedics, a specialty in dentistry that involves diagnosing, preventing, and treating dental and facial irregularities. He attended Howard University School of Dentistry, earning his Doctorate of Dental Surgery in May 1992 and graduating in the top four with honors. Dr. Mo then entered the orthodontic program and graduated with the highest ranking, earning his specialty in orthodontics.
He started practicing orthodontics in May of 1994 at several busy orthodontic practices in the greater Baltimore area until December of 1998, when Dr. Izadi started his practice in the Mays Chapel area of Timonium, MD. This location is very convenient to Lutherville, Cockeysville, Sparks, Monkton, Owings Mills, Phoenix, and Towson, and was expanded and renovated into a cutting-edge practice in 2014. Dr. Izadi also started his second Orthodontic/Pediatric Dentistry practice in the Cascades at the Potomac Falls Professional Center in Sterling, Virginia, in May of 2005. He sold that practice in 2021 and is no longer there.
Dr. Izadi electively passed the written and oral parts of the American Board of Orthodontics exam in 1994 and 2001, respectively. He also completed the presentation of six special orthodontic cases already assigned by the Board from start to finish in February 2007 and has, therefore, qualified as a lifetime Board-Certified Orthodonticist.
He has passed two regional board examinations and holds licenses to practice orthodontics in Virginia and Maryland. Dr. Izadi constantly takes continuing education courses and will continue to deliver the best possible care that orthodontics may offer for both children and adults.
As a member of the American Association of Orthodontists, Dr. Izadi is also a patent holder and an inventor in the field of orthodontics. Over the past 30 years, he has certainly built many functional and beautiful smiles for children and adults with severe malocclusions and skeletal issues. He has also been a Certified Invisalign Orthodontist since its inception in 1997.
Dr. Izadi is an Iranian American who immigrated to the United States at 17. He has always been very independent and lived in different parts of Maryland and briefly in Virginia during his final year of dental school and orthodontic residency. Dr. Izadi currently resides in Potomac with his wife, a general dentist who practices in various areas in Maryland. They have a son in college, a daughter in high school, and a beautiful Mal-Shi named Henry.
When he’s not in the office, Dr. Izadi does yoga, gardens, researches, and spends time with his wife and children. When time permits, the family loves to travel, both in the States and abroad, to learn about different heritages and cultures. Above all, Dr. Izadi is passionate about raising responsible, caring, and ethically sound children and being a supportive husband to his wife.
